THREE DAY
ITINERARY

After pick up from your hotel or accommodation, we head out to Kakadu. We travel across the Marrakai flood plains and take a boat cruise where we spot crocodiles, bird life and explore the tidal river system. We stop at the Bark Hut Inn (pictured) before continuing on in to Kakadu. We cross the South Alligator River before proceeding to Ubirr Rock where we see classic examples of Aboriginal rock art and spectacular 360 degree views. After watching sunset on the escarpment we travel to our campsite. During the evening we enjoy a hearty dinner and damper prepared on an open fire. Our camping passengers stay in our permanent camp, accommodated passengers stay in cabins with en suite bathrooms. (L,D) |
DAY
TWO
After breakfast we visit Barramundi
Gorge (Maguk) in the dry season and Baroalba Springs (Gubara) when
Maguk is inaccessible. Both locations offer an opportunity to walk
and explore swimming holes and spectacular sandstone country. After lunch
we visit Nourlangie Rock and Bowali Centre - Kakadu National Park Headquarters.
This afternoon transfer to the Litchfield Park tour, then head towards
our evening campsite at Mt Bundy Station. Campers stay in our permanent
camp, accommodated passengers stay in air conditioned rooms in the Stockman's
Quarters, share bathrooms. (B,L,D)

DAY
THREE
After breakfast we depart for Litchfield Park. Litchfield
is famous for its scenic beauty, waterfalls and safe swimming. We stop
at Florence Falls, Wangi Falls and Buley Rockhole and walk through beautiful
rainforests. On the way back to Darwin, we visit the township of Batchelor,
return to Darwin at app. 7:00pm. (B,L)
You have the choice of camping in Billy Can Tours' fully established camp site or staying in air conditioned accommodation. Set in a private area, our camp site is within easy walking distance of showers, toilets, a swimming pool and other accommodation areas. No matter where you sleep, all guests enjoy their evening meal and breakfast together at the Billy Can Tours camp.
Darwin Accommodation
When touring with Billy Can Tours, you will be
collected from your pre-tour accommodation in
Darwin at the start of the tour, pick ups start at 7:00am. At
the end of the tour we will drop you back to your Darwin accommodation.
What
To Bring
This tour features Aboriginal rock art, wildlife, climbing and swimming - and some participation is encouraged! We recommend you bring comfortable walking shoes, shorts, t-shirts, long pants and long sleeved shirt (for mosquito protection and extra warmth at night during the winter months), swimsuit, hat, towel, pillow, sun block, necessary toiletries and medication, change of clothes, camera and spare film, torch and a sense of fun.
Personal luggage is limited to an overnight bag and a day pack. Most Darwin accommodation will be happy to store any excess luggage you may have, some do charge a small fee. Please store any valuables in the safety deposit at your hotel in Darwin.

The maximum group size is 20 people, minimum is 4 to guarantee a departure.
