1 day Arnhemland Tour

Make your way to Darwin's Light Aircraft Facility for a 7.30am departure. The trip to Mount Borradaile in your charter aircraft is a spectacular scenic tour in its own right, spanning the World Heritage Wetlands of Kakadu National Park, one of the wildest coastlines in Australia. An optional charter from Jabiru in Kakadu National Park can be arranged.

Mount Borradaile is an exclusive, remote safari camp nestled against an outlier of the Arnhemland escarpment, a landscape of rugged ranges fringed by idyllic billabongs — a stunningly beautiful wilderness to us and a cultural landscape to the Aboriginal people. To these Traditional Owners Mount Borradaile is a sacred place, the embodiment of ancestral heroes. Its valleys, rock overhangs and caves have been occupied for over 50,000 years and celebrated in world-class galleries of rock art. There are none better.

After your breath-taking flight, you will be met at the airstrip by one of our guides for a quick drive to the camp. Tea and coffee is served while you are provided with a 15 minute familiarisation talk, then it's out to one of our escarpment art and habitation sites for a morning tour that includes bush tucker and medicine.

Back to camp for an early lunch after which we spend the afternoon on our creek and billabong system, observing the myriad of birds and crocodiles and a visit to Mt Borradaile's sacred art and burial sites. You will be returned to the camp for a quick cuppa before being transferred to the airstrip for your 4.30pm departure.
