Day 1: Saturday, 27 September 2008 -
Fly to Darwin
Depart today from your home port to Darwin. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Crowne Plaza Darwin, your accommodation for the next four nights. The rest of the day is at leisure. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner where you will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Sunday, 28 September 2008 -
Litchfield National Park
Visiting the main falls of Litchfield National Park, you have the opportunity for scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walks. View Florence Falls from a high vantage point before making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below. Visit Tolmer Falls for a magnificent view of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole below. Venture to Wangi Falls for another opportunity for a swim in the large crystal clear pool and an optional steady climb through the monsoon vine forest to the top of the falls. A great day for taking many interesting photos, including the amazing stand of termite mounds.

Darwin Highlights, Sunset Cruise
This morning join your city sights tour for the perfect introduction to Darwin city, with expert commentary by a local guide. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanic Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including the East Point Military Precinct. See the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. There may also be time available to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. This afternoon is yours free at leisure. Tonight enjoy a unique tropical dining experience aboard the sailing schooner ‘Alfred Nobel.’ Enjoy a seated Australian gourmet style meal with everything from fresh chilled seafood and freshly shucked oysters to BBQ Barramundi fillets, gourmet chicken and beef skewers. All this while enjoying Darwin’s brilliant sunset.

Day 4: Tuesday, 30 September 2008 -
Territory Wildlife Park
Today travel along the Stuart Highway to visit the multi award-winning Territory Wildlife Park. Not only do you see wildlife up-close in their natural habitats, you meet them walking through the tree top aviaries, strolling around a natural lagoon and even get to interact with them during presentations. From here you travel to Adelaide River to join the Jumping Crocodile Cruise. These are real crocodiles, in the wild, leaping out of the water while being fed by your local guide. Visit the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains and stop at Fogg Dam Nature Reserve before returning to Darwin.

Day 5: Wednesday, 01 October 2008 -
Join The Ghan, Katherine
This morning it’s time to join The Ghan. Settle in to your Gold Service cabin as you travel South to Katherine where you stop for around four hours giving you enough time to look around town or enjoy a spectacular Whistle Stop Tour at Katherine Gorge (additional cost).

Day 6: Thursday, 02 October 2008 -
Alice Springs
After arriving in Alice Springs in the morning you will have time to look around town. Or if you prefer, you might like to join a Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost) before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey South overnight.

Day 7: Friday, 03 October 2008 -
Arrive Adelaide
Enjoy one last breakfast on board before ending your holiday and bidding a fond farewell to your new found friends. (B)
