Six Day Desert Explorer

Day One
On arrival in Alice Springs, transfer (own expense) to your hotel, before picking up your car mid afternoon to explore this great town, maybe visit the Royal Flying Doctor's Museum or School of the Air, overnight Alice Springs.

Day Two (450km)
Leaving Alice Springs, passing the James and Waterhouse Ranges on your way to Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon tour of the base of Ayers Rock (Uluru) and a walk into Mutitjulu Water hole. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. View sunset over Ayers Rock. Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort - 2 nights

Day Three (350km)
This morning enjoy sunrise over Ayers Rock, with opportunity to Climb Uluru.Travel out to the Olgas (Kata-Tjuta) for a walk through its spectacular domes. The trail leads through to a lookout point with majestic views deep into the Valley of the Winds. Afternoon free to relax around the many pools at Ayers Rock Resort or check out the galleries full of local art work, before the award winning Sounds of Silence - silver service dinner under a million stars.

Day Four (480km)
Travel to Kings Canyon to climb to the rim of magnificent Kings Canyon (for the energetic, sturdy footwear required). Alternately, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn Canyon floor (an easier shady walk), check out Kathleen Springs on your way to Kings Canyon Resort. Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort - Budget rooms for Backpackers and Travellers, Rangeview room for Boutique, First Class and Deluxe.

Day Five (325km)
Morning departure to head to Glen Helen Gorge via the spectacular Meerenie Loop road, pausing at Gosse's Bluff, prior to crossing Tylers Pass for the afternoon free to relax in the beautiful setting of Glen Helen Lodge or explore Ormiston Gorge.
Accommodation: Motel room at Glen Helen Lodge.

Day Six
Return to Alice Springs, via Namatjira Drive to return your car mid afternoon at Alice Springs airport before your flight home (flight not included).

Includes : Intermediate Manual 4wd with unlimited kilometres and basic insurance, 5 nights accommodation and Sounds of Silence Dinner.
